Additional Coating & Re-Oiling
For wooden floors in good condition, applying an additional coat of lacquer or oil is an excellent way to prolong protection and refresh the surface without the need for full sanding.
However, this option is only suitable when the floor is in near-perfect condition, without deep scratches, yellowed lacquer, peeling, or cracks. If such issues are present, a full re-sanding is required before any new finish can be applied.
When the floor is suitable, we perform an intermediate buffing (screening) to ensure proper adhesion between the existing finish and the new topcoat. This method reinforces the surface, boosts durability, and restores the natural glow of the wood.
For oiled floors, we recommend re-oiling every 6–8 months to nourish the timber and maintain its protective layer.

Why Use Spray Cleaner and Microfibre Mop on Wood Floors?
Using a spray cleaner together with a microfibre mop is one of the safest and most effective ways to clean wooden floors. Unlike traditional mopping methods, spraying allows you to apply only a light mist of cleaning solution — avoiding excess moisture and preventing water from sitting on the surface while drying.
This is essential for protecting wood against warping, swelling, or long-term damage. The pH-balanced spray solution gently lifts dirt and stains without affecting the floor’s finish, while the microfibre mop collects debris without scratching. Together, they offer a fast-drying, wood-safe method for keeping your floor clean, healthy, and long-lasting.

Why You Should Avoid Over-Wetting Wooden Floors
Excessive water during cleaning is one of the most common causes of damage to wooden floors. When too much water or cleaning solution is left to sit on the surface, it can slowly seep into the wood through micro-gaps or unfinished edges. Over time, this moisture can cause the planks to swell, warp, or even lift, especially in areas with poor ventilation or high humidity.
Frequent mopping with an overly wet cloth or sponge can also break down the protective finish, leading to dullness, discolouration, and increased vulnerability to stains and scratches. In some cases, repeated over-wetting may cause boards to shift, loosen, or creak due to the expansion and contraction of the material.
To preserve the quality and lifespan of your wooden floor, we always recommend using a lightly damp microfibre mop and applying cleaning solution via spray — never soaking the surface. Quick-drying, low-moisture methods are key to maintaining a healthy, beautiful floor.
