Wood Floor Installation
Expert installation of engineered, solid wood, laminate, and LVT floors with precision, proper preparation, and long-lasting, beautiful results.
Inspection & Preparation
Before laying any type of wooden flooring, proper preparation of the base is essential. For concrete and uneven surfaces, a self-leveling compound is applied to achieve a smooth foundation. Before this, a special primer is used to enhance adhesion to the concrete. Alternatively, for wooden subfloors that require leveling, plywood is often used to achieve a flat surface.

There are two main methods for installing wooden flooring: Floating and Glue-down.
Floating installation involves placing the flooring over an appropriate underlay, chosen according to the manufacturer's specifications. This method allows the floor to "float" above the subfloor without being fixed directly to it, offering flexibility and ease of installation.
Glue-down installation involves bonding the flooring directly to the subfloor using specialist adhesives. The adhesive must be carefully selected to match the manufacturer’s requirements for the specific type of wood flooring. These adhesives are suitable for use over both plywood and concrete. In cases where concrete is the base, a liquid damp-proof membrane (DPM) is applied beforehand to ensure long-term stability and moisture protection.

On-Site Finishing
Some wooden floors are supplied unfinished, giving clients the flexibility to choose their preferred colour and finish after installation. Once the floor has been laid, we carry out the full finishing process on-site. This includes sanding the raw surface, applying a stain if desired, and sealing the wood with a high-quality lacquer or oil.
On-site finishing allows for complete customisation and results in a smooth, uniform finish that enhances the natural beauty of the wood and provides long-lasting protection.

Profiles & Finishing Trims
During the installation of new flooring, an expansion gap is always left between the floor and surrounding walls or fixed structures. This gap allows the floor to expand and contract naturally with changes in temperature and humidity, preventing lifting, warping, or long-term damage.
To complete the look and protect the edges, we install high-quality finishing profiles and trims. These include scotia (beading), T-bars for same-level transitions, reducer profiles for height differences, and end trims for doorways and edges. Each profile is carefully selected based on the flooring type and the client’s interior style preferences.
These finishing elements not only cover the expansion gaps but also enhance the overall appearance, providing smooth transitions and a professional, polished result.
